It took longer than we thought it would, but Brohm started to escape from his crib. I woke up to him knocking on his door one morning cause he couldn't get out and he was ready to play. When he did it again at nap time, I knew we had to change something. I didn't want him to get hurt from falling or slipping as he was going over the rail. We headed to the store to buy a side rail and updated his bed that night as well as moved the tall (climbable) bookcase and all breakable items out of his room.
He went right to bed without getting out that night and the nights that followed. Nap time was a different story. There were a few days that he slept but it was always after getting up and out multiple times. A few days he didn't even take a nap because we went back and forth for so long. Even tried to turn his bed back around making more of a crib hoping he would settle down. It was hard for both of us. I finally nailed a folded dark colored sheet over his window and that helped. It must have just been too light and all the things left in his room were too tempting. He has been good for nap and night ever since. Feel very lucky that he is such a good boy about it. A toddler or twin bed will be coming soon so Eloise can move out of the pack n play and into the crib.
