house hunting

Peter and I have been looking at buying a house. Yea! We spent all last Saturday touring homes in the county with a local realtor. He was great and let us know a lot about the area. We found a few houses that we loved and some that were awful but also learned a few things about what we are able to bend on and what we really need to have. Of course, there wasn't a single house that was 100% perfect but there were two that are very close. The best part is that we have agreed on everything that we have seen so far and even rated our top 3 the same! We will spend the next month or so checking out more homes and we hope to settle on the perfect one before the 2009 tax credit ends.

scared

I spent all day in the hospital yesterday. I was bleeding and my neighbor, Abby - another Army wife, was able to drive me to the ER. It was busy and I don't feel that it was as efficient as it could have been... but anyway we were there in the waiting room for hours.
Peter randomly called me while he was on break at work and was surprised that I was in the ER but he was able to leave work and come be with me. After a few more hours we were actually seen by a doctor and the blood work showed low levels of the pregnancy hormone HCG and the baby was too small to detect with an ultrasound. We may not be as far along as we suspected but there is also a possibility that we have lost the baby...
We will know more tomorrow when I go back to the doctor. If my HCG levels are higher than yesterday, we could still be okay. If they are lower, we have already had a miscarriage.
Think positive thoughts. I know everything happens for a reason.

Time to Celebrate!
We are going to have a baby!
We are so excited!! The little one is expected in the end of March so we still have a while to go but we couldn't be happier with our little surprise :)
Our first doctor appointment is on the 10th so I will keep you updated on what she has to say. For the most part, I have been feeling fine and I have been staying very busy reading in books and online all of the wonders of our tiny baby. It is truly amazing!

Below is what the BabyCenter has to say about 6 weeks:

This week's major developments: The nose, mouth, and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute — almost twice as fast as yours — and blood is beginning to course through his body. His intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. His pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of his brain, muscles, and bones. Right now, your baby is a quarter of an inch long, about the size of a lentil bean.
