Chickenpox
Brohm has the chickenpox! After a fabulous afternoon at the children's museum, I believe we took home more than we entered with :(
A few red bumps here and there - no big deal we thought. Mosquito bites because we spent so much time outside over Memorial Day weekend. Nope. They kept multiplying and didn't look "normal".
After a trip to the doctor, it was confirmed. Our vaccinated child indeed got the pox! The doctor had to get a second opinion from one of the other doctors in the practice because it isn't often that anybody around here gets it anymore. NC and most other states require the vaccination (or contracting the disease) prior to entering kindergarden. It just isn't common like it was when we were little.
Good news is that since he did get the shot, he has a mild case. Bumps and fever but nothing like what I expected/dreaded. It should be gone within the week. Since Peter and I both had it, we are safe. If the baby comes in the next few days, the doctor might recommend her to get the vaccination cause it can be really bad for little ones. If she holds out for another week, it seems that we will all be in the clear.
